Military Family Resources
Highland Bluff Elementary is proud to support members of the military and their families by offering resources to make their transition to our community easier.
Moving to a new area can often be difficult and our school is prepared to welcome new families and students. We also have a variety of activities on campus to help families feel a part of the Highland Bluff. Our counselor also meets with students experiencing anxiety over a new setting.
Student Led Transition Team
We have a student transition team on campus that is composed of students from military families. They can help inform students of clubs and activities, conduct school tours, and explain the procedures on campus at Highland Bluff.
Highland Bluff Elementary offers tutoring on campus throughout the year. Tutoring services can be arranged with our school counselor. The following link can also be used for tutoring at any time: www.tutor.com/
Exceptional Education Services
We offer gifted and special education services on campus. Our district also has a variety of services that meet on campus to address the needs of our special education population. For more information about those services, feel free to contact our principal at firstname.lastname@example.org
Information on Military Recognition Programs
For the most up to date information about our programs to recognize the military, we recommend that families follow the Highland Bluff Elementary Facebook page. It is updated daily with new information and provides families with information about upcoming events.
Mental Health Services
Counselors in Rankin County School District are prepared to handle a variety of mental health needs that may arise throughout the year. Our school district also has a partnership with Region 8 and mental health professionals are stationed throughout the district to help with specific needs that may necessitate additional counseling.
